About Omsk State Medical University (OSMU)
Omsk State Medical University started in 1920 as part of the Siberian Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Zoology. It became the West Siberian State Medical Institute in 1921, was renamed OSMU in 1925, and OSMA in 1994.

The university has 59 departments, with 73% of its staff holding advanced degrees. It is among the top 100 universities in Russia and achieved Level IV accreditation. In 2015, it officially became a university.
